Ladies Day promises to ‘nourish the soul’

Arizona Community Church is hosting an all-ladies day from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April that promises to energize the sprit and nourish the soul. The day is open to all women and is sponsored by AWE!, the Arizona Women’s Experience, the church’s women’s program.

“Celebrate Freedom” will feature speaker Debbie Dittrich and performer Varetta Heidelberg.

Dittrich, a Dallas resident, aims to inspire women to a positive life as she shares how her failures led her to the Christian faith and to a transformed life. She challenges women to “think biblically” and apply spiritual principles to everyday living.

Heidelberg, a Southern Californian and former Miss Black America, will play her saxophone and share how faith and confidence in religion are her keys to achievement in life.

A mid-morning buffet will be served. Tickets are $12 or two for $20. This year’s Fiesta of Faith is the renewal of a Valley-wide program, started by Martha Davidson in 1973, to bring nationally acclaimed women speakers to local Christian women.

“Today’s Arizona woman needs the confidence of faith,” said Davidson. “This is why we renewed the Fiesta of Faith--to bring inspiration to the lives of women in our community.”

Arizona Community Church is at 9325 S. Rural Road, Tempe.
