KC boy among global slate of young musicians
Students and teachers from around the world, including one from the Kyrene Corridor, participated in four days of inspiration, enrichment and music last month at Yamaha Jamboree 2004 in Phoenix.
Among participants was 10-year-old Gabriel Dotson, who joined five other young artists from the Valley.
The events culminated with two concerts and featured performances by more than 34 Yamaha Music Education System students.
The weekend included workshops for students and teachers by three internationally regarded clinicians: developmental psychologist Dr. Keith Golay, Japanese piano pedagogue Noriko Hamada and composer, arranger and clinician Phillip Keveren.
