Aprende Middle School: Jeff Sandell & Jndia Cleveland

Jeff Sandell is an 8th grader at Aprende Middle School and a member of the Jaguar track squad.  He has competed in track for three years and his determination, leadership, and motivation have established him as a role model for his teammates. Jeff’s hard work has earned him one of the top spots in the 800-meter run and the 1600 meter relay at the TKAC championship track meet.  He is a versatile runner and can be competitive in any race from the 100 meter dash to the 1600 meter run.

Jeff is a member of the National Junior Honor Society and Principal’s Honor Roll, maintaining a cumulative GPA of 4.0.  During his free time he enjoys browsing the Internet and serving as an alter boy at his church.

Jndia Cleveland is a 6th grade student at Aprende Middle School and a leader on the Jaguar’s 2002 Track and Field team.  She is undefeated in the 75-meter hurdles, 100 meters, long jump and runs a leg on the undefeated 400 meter relay.  Her goal is to be the first 6th grader to win four individual events at the Kyrene Conference Track Meet.

Five years ago Jndia started her track and field career with the Arizona Cheetah’s Track Club.  In 2001 she was ranked 9th in the United States in the 80 meter hurdles and thus far in 2002 has established a new indoor meet record.  Jndia also excels in the classroom where she maintains a 3.6 GPA and is a member of the Jaguar Honor Roll.  She also enjoys collecting key chains from all over the world, listens to all types of music, plays a musical keyboard and partakes in different types of arts and crafts.  Jndia gains inspiration from her mom, club coaches, and the track coaches at Aprende.
