Expanded bus schedule announced for July 4th festival
Tempe’s transit agency, Tempe in Motion, will make it easy for residents to get to the July 4th Tempe Town Lake Festival with extended bus and shuttle service. Tempe bus routes 56—Priest; 62—Hardy; 65--Mill/Kyrene; 66—Mill; 72—Rural; 81—McClintock; and 92--48th Street/Guadalupe will run according to Sunday schedules until 3 p.m.
After 3 p.m., these routes will run every 30 minutes northbound to downtown Tempe until 8:30 p.m. After 10:15 p.m., the routes will run every 30 minutes southbound from downtown Tempe until midnight. All other routes in Tempe will operate according to Sunday schedules.
Special park-and-ride shuttles will operate from Tempe Diablo Stadium (northeast corner of 48th Street and Alameda Drive) and Pyle Center (southwest corner of Southern Avenue and Rural Road) to the 5th Street and Farmer Avenue parking lot in downtown Tempe every 10 minutes from 3 until 8:30 p.m. Return shuttle service from the event to Tempe Diablo Stadium and the Pyle Center will operate until 12 a.m. Cost to ride the shuttle is $5 round-trip per car load.
