Program aids neighborhood improvement efforts

South Tempe homeowners and non-profit groups are being encouraged to take advantage of Tempe's Tool Box program, which delivers a trailer loaded with landscape and paint supplies to  neighborhoods for a specified amount of time.

For large clean-ups, a Dumpster and fire safety inspections may also be available.

Participation requirements

Must be used within Tempe

Participation of a minimum of five homeowners living in the same neighborhood

Each clean-up requires a designated participant to assume responsibility for the following:
Distribution and retrieval of the tools; properly securing the trailer and contents; completion of Request for Participation, including a list of participating homeowners;
ensuring all waivers are completed; ensuring that all equipment is safely operated;
ensuring that Dumpsters do not become overloaded or contaminated with prohibited materials.

The program is being coordinated by the city of Tempe Code Compliance Division.
