Dennis Cahill plans to seek Tempe mayoral job

Tempe Councilman Dennis Cahill will be a candidate for mayor, he announced Thursday.

As a council member for 12 years and a Tempe resident for more than 50, Cahill said he has seen the community develop and feels he can be a fulltime mayor who “will continue to keep Tempe the best place to live, work and raise a family.”

He pledged fiscal accountability and responsibility, along with advocacy for neighborhoods and continued support for law enforcement.

He said he would continue to promote economic development in Tempe, support the downtown area and be a strong advocate for ASU.

He also said he would be “honest, open, accessible and upfront.”

Added Cahill:

“I will be a team leader and a team player, and will make hard decisions when necessary to benefit the citizens of Tempe.” His campaign office can be reached by calling (480) 345-4170.
