One of 'best' years, despite
some caution |
By Matt Stone |
Shoppers
seem to be a little more guarded this
holiday season, with area stores so far
reporting a somewhat cautious approach
to the annual ritual of gift buying. |

At Kilburn
Bell’s house, a normal Sunday evening
turned into a small adventure—and gave
him the self-imposed job of finding
homes for a litter of abandoned kittens.

It’s probably extreme to juxtapose
Screen Door Jesus with
the religion-themed Left
Behind series. After all, Screen
Door Jesus is simply a
satirical look at old-fashioned Bible
Belt religion and all the flavors it
comes in. Nevertheless, by design it
shuts out and offends those most likely
to benefit from any redeeming message it
may have. |

“What’s
your favorite movie?” When you
write about movies, you’re asked this a
lot, and for most true lovers of film,

choose a single favorite, for all time?

love conquers all, no matter how
diminutive your stature. |

south Tempe is along the west side of
the Loop 101 freeway from Guadalupe Road
to Ray Road, and the utility is
negotiating with Tempe and Chandler
officials on the cost of burying the
line in the freeway corridor between
Warner and Ray roads, a utility
spokesman says. |

Do-it-yourself sellers may face unforeseen problems

Lions and tigers and…kids, oh my! Okay, so maybe they’re not the exact words Dorothy and company uttered while traversing the yellow brick road, but they might have been. If, that is, the gang had tagged along with Kyrene Corridor dentist Dr. Kelly Cook last August during a big-game safari hunt in South Africa. |
